Antenna Cloud Farm presents internationally-acclaimed Duo YUMENO, a collaboration between koto/shamisen player and singer Yoko Reikano Kimura and cellist Hikaru Tamaki. Duo YUMENO will be performing two shows on the Antenna Cloud Farm indoor stage: 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
The Japanese Paper Film Project will kickoff the new season at Lafayette College in eastern Pennsylvania. A truly immersive experience – featuring live musical accompaniment by Duo YUMENO, and a special introduction by Bucknell University professor Eric Faden.

The Japan Information and Culture Center (Embassy of Japan) is pleased to welcome award-winning musicians KIMURA Yoko Reikano, TOKUNAGA Keiko and TAMAKI Hikaru for a diverse performance of Japanese music and more. Known for their musicianship and expertise, they have performed in a wide array of styles and genres across Japan and the United States. In addition to music, there will also be a brief introduction to the Koto, a 1,300-year-old stringed instrument of Japan and its traditional music.

The World of Japanese Paper Films @ Teatro Verdi, Pordenone, Italy
As part of the Japanese Paper Film Project, Duo YUMENO will perform at the 44th Pordenone Silent Film Festival in Italy. The festival has been solely focused on screening silent films from around the world.

Autumn @ Setsugekka, NY
Yoko Reikano Kimura, a Yamada-style koto performer and “Setsugekka” in East Village have been co-hosting a Japanese music concert series, “Four Seasons in New York – Gems of Japanese Music – “. Launched in the fall of 2015, the series has offered audiences a chance to experience the sounds of the koto and shamisen throughout the seasons. To date, over 60 pieces have been presented, ranging from classical to contemporary works. Attendees will also enjoy matcha prepared by tea ceremony master Souheki Mori.
Duo YUMENO will bring a multicultural program including its commission work, “Heike Quinto” composed by Daron Hagen as well as traditional Japanese piece to Beiverwyck in Albany, NY.
Duo YUMENO will perform for the special screening of “Japanese Paper Films” tour in Australia. The details about the tour will be announced soon.

Duo YUMENO will perform for the New Year’s celebration at Japan Society of Greater Fairfield County of Connecticut. The program will include music that represents the joyful spirit of Oshōgatsu (New Year’s in Japanese) as well as the winter season.

On Saturday, January 31 at 2:00 pm, the Museum of Modern Art, New York will present Orphans at MoMA: At Play – Amateurs, Animators and Avant-Grades”as part of To Save and Project: The 22nd MoMA International Festival of Film Preservation. Numerous films curated by the NYU Orphan Film Symposium, which celebrates the diversity of amateur and experimental cinema, will be screened for the general public. The screening will include a 40-minute presentation of Japanese Paper Films with a brief introduction by Prof.Eric Faden (Bucknell University) who is the founder of the Japanese Paper Film Project, and will be accompanied by live performance of Duo YUMENO, an award-winning koto-cello duo.

– Gems of Japanese Music – Vol. 34 @ Setsugekka, NY

New York’s music scene reflects the diverse and vibrant culture of the city. Yoko Reikano Kimura began “Four Seasons in New York – Gems of Japanese Music –” series in the fall of 2015. As a Japanese instrumentalist, Kimura hopes to introduce the brilliance of traditional Japanese music, which is still being passed on to future generations after many centuries. Since the first concert, over 65 works from the classical repertoire have been introduced in the concert series. Please come and experience the sounds of Japanese Music. After the concert, matcha will be served by Souheki Mori, tea master and the owner of Setsugekka, which is the destination of matcha connoisseurs in New York.
